    Caitlin Sievers|Sep 13, 2013

A bus rollover crash about seven miles northeast of Potter Thursday afternoon resulted in some significant injuries. A Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling west on County Road 40 and struck a Potter-Dix School District bus that was traveling north on County Road 83, according to the Cheyenne County attorney's office. • City budget includes reduction in property taxes

    Caitlin Sievers|Sep 13, 2013

City manager Gary Person presented a significantly bigger than usual city budget for approval at Tuesday's city council meeting. The council approved the finished 2013-2014 budget that night, as well as the new, slightly lower tax levy. Born in 1823 in the White River country, which is now South Dakota, his father Tangle Hair and his mother Walks-with-the-Pipe gave him the name Jumping Buffalo. As a young warrior Jumping Buffalo was given the tail of a raccoon by a white tra...

  • Raiders roll over Sutherland in four sets

    Stephen McKay|Sep 13, 2013

Though she was at the top of only one statistical category last night, Sidney's Sarah Mahr had something to say in just about every phase of the contest. With their 3-1 victory, the Red Raiders volleyball team spoiled the home opener of non-conference Sutherland last night. The win advances Sidney's record to 2-2 while the Sailors fall to 1-3. None of the sets was close as the Raiders bounced Sutherland in games one (25-12), three (25-16) and four (25-11) while the Sailors had all the answers...

  • Come from behind efforts fall short as Coyotes drop both ends of home triangular

    Dave Faries|Sep 13, 2013

The Coyotes apparently enjoy spotting the opposition a point, even a game. They simply clamber out of holes, over and over. "That's becoming our signature--coming back from a slow start," observed sophomore Regyn Hicks. The pattern emerged during Potter-Dix's hard fought 2-1 losses to Mitchell and Kimball in their home triangular on Thursday night. After appearing overmatched in their opening set, falling 25-14 to Mitchell, the Coyotes clung within striking distance in the second. With the... Full story
