    Dress Down Day funds were awarded to the Daughters of the American Revolution's Fort Sidney Chapter. The funds were used to defray costs of commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War to honor and recognize veterans.   • Pennington faces new charge for tampering with evidence

    A 19-year-old woman already facing six felony drug charges was arrested again this month after law enforcement officers say she tampered with evidence.     Teenage tobacco use has declined over the last decade, however, as local students are going back to school, the Panhandle Public Health District stresses the importance of parents talking to their kids about the risks of smoking.     With students back in classrooms at schools throughout the county, drivers are reminded to be aware of increased pedestrian traffic. “That’s the first thing, the need to be aware, especially around schools,” said Cheyenne County Sheriff John Jenson. “There’s a bunch of kids.     Ongoing Dalton Prairie Sooner Museum open Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. for the rest of the summer. The Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays through Oct. 10 at Hickory Street Square in Sidney from 8 -11 a.m. The Bridge Marathon will begin playing again in September.
