    John Hehnke, the City of Sidney's embattled public services director, was fired Tuesday.     Students and staff at Potter-Dix schools returned to classrooms Wednesday morning.     Construction continues on the Pole Creek Crossing and the Fort Sidney Road bridge in Sidney Wednesday morning. Girders for the Pole Creek Crossing bridge were set and the next step is working on the deck. According to Project Engineer Don Dye, fiber optic lines and utility lines prevented progress on the Fort Sidney Road Bridge until they were relocated.     Michael Andrew Humphrey, 59, died August 11, 2015, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born April 3, 1956, in Sidney, to Frederick and Blanche (Heinzman) Humphrey. Michael was an avid Huskers fan, graduating from Sidney Senior High School in 1974. He was a butcher for National Beef in Liberal, Kan. and later moved to Hutchinson working for Warehouse Market, Food-4-Less, and Frito-Lay for many years.
