Sidney's Night of Hope Walk for Cancer is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Events start with the Survivor's Walk at 6 p.m. at Sidney Legion Park Pond. This year's headquarters for Night of Hope is The Insurance Store, 845 10th Ave. Team shirts are available at headquarters through Aug. 9. After a delay of about a month, Sidney High School Activities Director Mike Brockhaus announced the track resurfacing project will start on Tuesday August 7th. The resurfacing will assure the the quality and integrity of the track surface, and will help facilitate year-round usage for the school and members of the community. The track will be closed until the project is completed and the new surface has had time to cure, which should be for most of the month of August. The Cheyenne County Community Center would like to remind residents of upcoming sports registration periods for youth volleyball and flag football. For volleyball, the Volleyball Fundamental Camp registration will be open between August 4 through August 20. Cost is $20 per participant, and the camp starts on August 22.
