Sidney’s City Council approved a plan for city crews to demolish the Bertrun O’Conner Swimming Pool on Toledo Street, leaving the rubble in place. Under the plan, presented Tuesday evening at council’s regular meeting, City Manager Ed Sadler told council members that leaving demolished material on the pool site will be the most cost effective method, for several reasons. Cheyenne County’s Visitors Center is offering a bust tour to area attractions. In a prior interview, Heather Hausmann, Executive Director of the Cheyenne County Visitors Center said, “I have seen others do the bus tours in the past, and they have been successful, we want people to talk about, promote and experience Cheyenne County.” There was a change to the tour’s date, which will now be held August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide visitors and locals the opportunity to experience part of that culture.
