Maria Victoria Campa, 37, and Carlos Zamora, Jr., 41, are being held in Logan County Jail, Sterling, Colo., following her arrest on July 18. The pair, were arrested, along with two juveniles, on U.S. Highway 138 near Iliff in Logan County. One of the juveniles was a six-week-old infant taken from the Sidney area. Sidney’s 12U Cal Ripken baseball team headed to North Platte last week to compete in the Cal Ripken Midwest Plains Regional Baseball Tournament. Sidney won the Nebraska State 12U title in the beginning of July to earn its’ spot in the tournament, and faced the best 12U teams in the midwest that had also earned their way into the tournament by winning state titles. Sidney's Senior American Legion baseball team ended their season over the weekend by traveling to Chadron to compete in the B-7 tournament. On Friday, Sidney faced Chadron in the opening round. The game was a tight contest through the first four innings, with neither team able to break through with runs on the board. Brady Delimont, of Ainsworth, Nebraska, is the final scholarship player to join the team.
