  • Kimble sentenced to probation in assisted suicide case

    Deann Kimble received 36 months of probation and will have to perform 50 hours of community service for her role in the suicide of her husband, Russell Kimble in March of this year. Citing a lack of criminal history and apparent remorse on the part of the defendant, Judge Derek Weimer gave Kimble credit for time served. Kimble, age 53, appeared for sentencing in Cheyenne County District Court on Thursday on an amended charge of assisting suicide, a class four felony. She had originally been arraigned April 8 on one count of assisting suicide...

    Stanley A. Williams, 79 of Flagstaff, Ariz. was born in Sidneyon April 1, 1935. He passed away at his home in Flagstaff on June 4, 2014 after a short illness. A Celebration of Life Service was held on June 9, 2014 at the Church of Resurrection in Flagstaff. A memorial service will be held at Peetz, Colo. at a later date.     Continuing the trend of the previous three months, most Nebraska businesses report a positive outlook for the next six months, according to the latest survey conducted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Bureau of Business Research.     Sidney’s high school wrestling squad will take part in a unique cultural exchange next week, hosting athletes from Alaska for two days, June 17-18.
