Galen Wittrock of the South Platte Natural Resources District and representative of the Joint East Sidney Watershed Authority was given approval by the city council on Tuesday for his request that the city apply for funding for storm water quality and mitigation projects. These would cover east Sidney’s watershed, which flows into Lodgepole Creek. By the numbers, the 2014 NTA Western Zone shoot, held at Sidney Shooting Park, was a sizable affair. After all, 34 trap shooters from Nebraska, 5 shooters from Colorado, and 1 shooter from Wyoming fired at a total of 14,700 registered trap targets during the competition on June 7 and 8.
