    Bernie L. Koehn, 70, of Sunol and longtime Sidney area resident, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday evening, June 5, 2014 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tues., June 10th in the Sidney Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.   • Cabela's to begin construction on stores in three states

    Just ahead of last week’s shareholder meeting, Cabela’s announced the opening of three new stores in Alabama, Oklahoma and New York. The company plans to begin construction on a 80,000 square foot store in Huntsville, Alabama this year with a fall 2015 opening date, according to a press release from Cabela’s. This store is expected to employ around 180 full time and part time workers.     Phyllis was born in Funk, Neb. on July 5, 1928 to Arnold Alfred Emmanuel and Amy Victoria Nelson. She grew up on a farm near Axtell, Neb. and graduated from Wilcox High School in 1945. Phyllis attended Nebraska State Teachers College (later known as Kearney State College) where she earned her 2-year teaching certificate.     Dalton hosted a one mile youth run, followed by a 4.5 mile obstacle course on Saturday to raised funds for repairs at the Leyton Elementary/Junior High School playground in Gurley. Some 230 people participated in the event, which raised about $15,000--including $5,500 from a Cabela's Emerging Leaders team, $1,000 from Matt Mitchell's Get Fit, Stay Fit Challenge money and $2,000 from an anonymous donor.... Full story
