For one weekend 1870s Sidney is realized through storytellers and re-enactors, including gunfighters, weavers and skinners. One of the biggest youth activity days of the summer is Saturday, when hundreds of youth line the shores of the pond in Legion Park for Cabela’s Kids Fishing Day. Activities get underway at 8:30 a.m., running until 11 a.m. Youngsters 12 and under will learn knot tying and other facets of fishing, then get their lines wet in the freshly stocked pond.
