    Two Sidney Police officers involved in an April shooting that led to the death of a Sidney man are back on the job after a Nebraska State Patrol investigation determined the officers’ use of force was appropriate. Sidney Police Sgt.   • Limitations placed on camping at fairgrounds

    Year-round campsites at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds will no longer be available following a decision by county commissioners this week. A few campers already on the premises must leave by July 1, and, as of Monday, no new campers will be allowed to rent sites. Cheyenne County Commissioners made the unanimous decision Monday following a discussion begun last month.     Local farmer and Nebraska Wheat Board District 3 Director Larry Flohr of Chappell was recently named chairman of Plains Grains Inc.     The Sidney senior American Legion team struggled through its first two games at the Gering Tournament over the weekend before salvaging the final game against Hershland. After winning the finale, Sidney finished the tournament in fifth among the six teams entered. Meanwhile, the juniors split a doubleheader with Ogallala on Saturday in which they played the first game with a lineup made up primarily of Sidney Babe Ruth players.     Both Sidney High School Red Raiders boys’ and girls’ track teams finished a successful season as the girls tied with Scottsbluff for the District B-6 championship while the boys won a state title for the first time since 1970. At the state meet in Omaha, the boys earned 16 medals, while the girls claimed 11. Three Sidney High records fell during the season.
