    The South Platte Natural Resources District announced that it will receive $200,000 from the Nebraska Environmental Trust for the “Hydrogeology of Western Nebraska” project. The Trust Board announced funding for the project at its meeting on April 7 in Lincoln.     A group of Sidney High School students and their teacher completed a volunteer effort as part of a class project by donating items to pediatric patients of Regional West Medical Center.     The Nebraska Envirothon state contest was held at Steinhart Lodge at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City last week.     A boating safety course will be held at the Western Nebraska Community College campus in Sidney on Thursday, May 12, according to Scott Eveland, Boating Safety Officer for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
