Leasa Hlavinka, the Sidney dentist who was stabbed by her husband at their home Sunday night, blamed alcoholism for Dana Hlavinka’s actions. In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, Leasa Hlavinka said she is recovering well and anxious to leave the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. A Sidney High School student attended a Cheyenne County Commissioners meeting on Monday to raise concerns about the condition of some roads in the county. Kade Price told the commissioners his family has been living in Cheyenne County for 25 years. Sidney planning commissioners voted on Monday evening to recommend the approval of a preliminary plat application to subdivide an unplatted tract of land on the northwest corner of Toledo Street and Fort Sidney Road. After 67 years in the same location, Wheat Belt Public Power District has announced that it will break ground on April 27 for a new Wheat Belt headquarters and warehouse facility.
