Floyd O. Kettle, of Sidney, pled guilty to a single count of cultivating marijuana, a Class III felony, on Monday in Cheyenne County District Court. The Sidney City Council will begin its Tuesday meeting earlier than usual and in a different venue. At 5 p.m., the City Council and the South Platte Natural Resources will hold a joint meeting at the NRD offices located at 551 Parkland Drive in Sidney. Lester F. Johnson, formerly of Potter, passed away on April 10, 2015. Mr. Johnson is proceeded by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herbert D. Johnson, brothers Clifford, Wayne, Ronald and sister Willomine Lipska, all of whom resided in the Potter area. Trey Arellano, an eighth grader at Sidney Middle School, earned All-American status by virtue of his performance at the AAU National Duals at HyVee Hall in Des Moines, Iowa the weekend of April 4-5. Arellano, who wrestles at 95 pounds, earned his place in the national duals meet by virtue of his 5-0 record at the AAU qualifier in Kearney a week earlier.
