Sidney Regional Medical Center (SRMC) has announced a new agreement for emergency patient transfers. As part of the continuum of care, the hospital is responsible for managing the transportation of patients to the next level of care. Because it is sometimes necessary to expedite the process, SRMC has partnered with Medical Air Rescue Company (MARC) for its ground and air transfer services. In October 2018, Dianne Bates was diagnosed with throat cancer, Stage 4 Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The diagnosis came after four to five months of doctor visits. After each visit, Bates and her family left with her symptoms getting worse. Her first surgery came just 12 hours after her diagnosis. Procedures included a tracheotomy and a feeding tube.
