The Sidney School Board added a day to "spring break" for the 2016-17 school calendar at its regularly scheduled meeting held Monday night. In a discussion of the 2016-17 school calendar, a day was added to what was formerly "Easter break" and its name was changed to "spring break." The case against a Sidney woman charged with 21 counts of burglary continues to makes its way through the courts. Mindy Richmond is the woman charged with committing a string of burglaries in Cheyenne County in 2014-15. She was arrested June 11, 2015. Richmond's lawyer, James Korth, appeared via telephone in Tuesday's status hearing and said there are "a substantial amount of discoveries." Two former Sidney High tracksters, Savanna Rosenbaum, left, and Jachob Wiedeburg, participated in the University of Nebraska-Kearney track meet on Saturday.
