A group of Sidney High students presented its prize winning mural to school board members on Monday evening. Members of the Sidney school board met on Monday evening for their first meeting of the year. The majority of the agenda dealt with annual appointments and designations. By unanimous votes, Tom Von Seggern was appointed the board's president, Steve Mattoon the vice president, Deanna Kantor the secretary and Geri Anthony the treasurer. Three Sidney pool players earned prize money in an APA Pool League 9-Ball tournament held Saturday at the Eagles Club in North Platte. Scott Padilla took first place while Bob Jones and Justin Butts each finished in third place. All three players earned a cash prize. The tournament in North Platte hosted 17 players from across western Nebraska and paid cash prizes to the top four shooters.
