The City of Sidney offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. All city departments will be closed including the landfill and the library. Cub Scout Pack #36 has returned to Peetz, Colo. The Peetz Cub Scout Pack, which consists of nine boys, is sponsored by the Peetz Lions Club. The Western Nebraska Community cosmetology department in Sidney will offer free haircuts to veterans as part of the “Red, White and Blue, Honoring You” event. Veterans and active duty military will receive a free haircut Tuesdays through Fridays during the month of November. The Potter-Dix High football team fell behind in the first half and couldn't recover as the Coyotes lost 52-40 in the opening round of the Nebraska Class D2 state tournament on Thursday night. The three-person rushing attack of Jordan Nelson, Cody Wilson and Bradley Holtz helped propel Peetz (Colo.) to a 79-32 shellacking of Stratton/Liberty on Friday night. LINCOLN – Cheyenne County received a membership dividend of $9,480 from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA), the county's property, liability and workers' compensation coverage provider. In an active part to support breast cancer awareness month and support a local cancer organization, Adams Industries recently held a company-wide breast cancer fundraiser. Various breast cancer T-shirts were created for employees to purchase. The employees raised $1,600 through those sales, which with a company match, allowed Adams Industries to donate $3,200 to the Night of Hope.
