    A Sidney man allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a 16-year-old has had the charges reduced in the case. Scott H. Atkins, 55, was originally charged with making terroristic threats, use of a weapon and child abuse after the incident Nov. 28 at a residence in the 1100th block of 7th Avenue. He now faces third-degree assault charges, according to Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub.     A 22-year-old Sidney man was sentenced on Wednesday to 20 to 60 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine. Javier Campos was sentenced Wednesday in Cheyenne County District Court by Judge Derek Weimer. Campos received the maximum sentence for the class IV felony. Previously. Campos was sentenced in March 2012 to two to four years in prison for attempted possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. He was released on parole after serving seven months....

    The “Keep Sidney Beautiful” program received a grant as part of more than $2 million doled out from the state. The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality Acting Director Pat Rice announced the awarding of $2,099,364 in 57 grants for litter cleanup, recycling, and public education programs and activities on Wednesday. Sidney’s portion was $39,774 for its recycling and litter education, partnerships with businesses and social media use.     PAXTON, Neb. – An Arizona man was arrested and jailed for driving while intoxicated after a Nebraska trooper stopped his vehicle for speeding 127 mph in a 75-mph zone on Interstate 80 in Keith County.     Nineteen people were killed in traffic accidents on the state’s roadways during November, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Roads. There were also 12 fatalities on the roads in November 2013. Last month, the 19 fatalities occurred in 17 crashes.     A 20-year-old Colorado woman died in a rollover crash on I-80 in Cheyenne County on Saturday morning. Emily Barnes of Craig, Colo., was a passenger in a car that rolled over about two miles east of Sunol. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to a state police report. The car was driven by 22-year-old Cody Seldon of Michigan.
