    Sidney residents and Peetz Plateau RE-5 students Alexah Fort and Clara Lichti were honored last weekend at a reception hosted by the Elbridge Gerry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for their winning essays. Fort was selected as the seventh-grade winner and Lichti was named the eighth-grade winner.     Average retail gasoline prices in Nebraska have risen 5.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.18 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska. This compares with the national average that has increased 7.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.25 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
