    Amir Haghverdi will join the faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Panhandle Research and Extension Center this summer as an irrigation and water-management specialist. Haghverdi's appointment was announced by Jack Whittier, research and extension director at the Panhandle R&E Center.     The Tri-State Dirt Riders Motocross will kick off its 2015 race season with a race in Mitchell, Neb., on May 3. The TSDR circuit has scheduled 11 races at tracks in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska this year. TSDR has classes for every level and age – from beginner all the way up to pro riders – with divisions for motorcycle, quads and women riders.     The City of Sidney will be closed on Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday. All city departments will be closed including the landfill and the library.
