An Equine Welfare Training short course planned for May 14 at Sidney has been postponed for lack of registrations. Organizers hope to reschedule the course, which is hosted by the Nebraska Horse Council and Nebraska Extension. The Peetz Bulldogs’ regional baseball game with the Community Christian Crusaders, scheduled for Saturday at All-Star Park in Lakewood, Colo., has been postposed until Tuesday. Because inclement weather is expected this weekend, the Colorado High School Activities Association decided to make the move. Mary Egging Schadegg celebrated her 100th birthday over the weekend at the Sidney Regional Medical Center with friends and family – many whom traveled from outside the state. She was born on April 28, 1915, in Wilhelmina, Mo., and is one of 13 children in the family. The family moved to Gurley in 1928. Mary married Ernest Schadegg in August 1940.
