The Leyton High volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season as it dropped a close four setter to Paxton in Dalton on Tuesday night. The Lady Warriors’ record slipped to 4-1 on the season, while the Tigers remain perfect at 4-0. Cub Scout Pack 36 kicked off its first fall meeting last week, welcoming back Assistant Cubmaster Roy Gillham, Den Leader Brandee Gillham and adding three new scouts. Average retail gasoline prices in Nebraska have fallen 8.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.44/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska. One of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Panhandle facilities is expanding. Construction has begun on an addition to the Wildcat Hills Nature Center south of Gering. The $2.375 million expansion will add 8,720 square feet to the building, which serves as headquarters for the commission’s educational programs in the region and the 700-acre Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area.
