    A Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Certification Workshop is scheduled for Oct. 10-11 at Scottsbluff. Oct. 1 is the registration deadline. The workshop will provide volunteers with an opportunity to become certified as an adult (21 years and older) or apprentice (14-20 years old) leader. Five project areas will be offered: shotgun, rifle, pistol, hunting skills and archery. A minimum number of participants is needed to offer these disciplines at the workshop.     The Sidney High golf team continued its strong play on Saturday as it adorned three more medalists on its way to a runner-up finish at the Scottsbluff Invite on Saturday. The Raiders’ top four scorers combined for 388 strokes over the 5,467-yard par 72 Scotts Bluff Country Club.     After competing at McCook just two days earlier, the Sidney Red Raiders cross country teams sent a less experienced squad to the Alliance Invite on Saturday to compete at Sky View Golf Course. The Raiders' girls finished in sixth place with 104 points while the boys finished in 10th place.     The Peetz Bulldogs (2-2) handed the South Park Burros (2-1) their first loss of the season with a convincing 46-6 win Friday night at a neutral site in Deer Trail, Colo. Junior Cody Wilson helped propel the offense as he rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries. Wilson also had a 40-yard touchdown reception.     The Creek Valley High School volleyball team crossed the border into Julesburg, Colo., on Thursday night and dropped a match in straight sets to the Sedgwick County Cougars in a non-district matchup. The Storm (5-3) battled the Cougars (3-3) with a strong defensive effort, but came up short in straight sets 17-25, 20-25, 19-25.     A car pursuit that started in Wyoming – and included a short standoff with police – ended near Sidney on Wednesday after state troopers used stop sticks to disable the vehicle.
