The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services received reports of two cases of travel-related Zika virus. These are the first cases in the state. One is in Douglas County and the other is in Sarpy County, and both people are females in their 20s who recently traveled to Zika-affected countries. Neither one was hospitalized. Daniel Bashtovoi, a sixth grader at West Elementary School in Sidney, won the Cheyenne County Spelling Bee on Thursday. Bashtovoi competed against the top-six spellers from schools throughout the county. The competition was open to all students in fourth through eighth grades.
