In 1982, Pheasants Forever was formed. It came about from the frustration of hunters and conservationists watching wildlife habitat losses taking place. Nebraska's first Pheasant's Forever chapter was established in 1986. In 1990, Cheyenne County was added to the list of chapters in Nebraska as High Plains Chapter No. 278. On March 5, the High Plains Chapter No. 278 will celebrate 31 years with its annual banquet at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. with happy hour....
