Mike Motz, Sidney Sun-Telegraph The Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, February 21, and discussed a few topics, approved an application for a Floodplain Development Permit, and approved two replats for subdivisions in Cheyenne County. After reviewing leftover business from November's meeting, the group agreed on paying out the last expenses from last year's Oktoberfest. The qualifiers were junior Landon Hanes at 285 pounds, freshman Zech Roggasch at 160 pounds, Jadyn Cottam at 105 pounds and Saphira Whitely at 190 pounds. Potter-Dix's Lady Coyote Girls Basketball team ended their season on Thursday, February 16, with a loss to Leyton in the finals of the D2-11 Subdistrict Tournament. Although the team improved throughout the season, they fell a bit short of the 10 wins predicted by the Sun-Telegraph, finishing with a 7-and-15 record. That date marks the 30th anniversary of the concert his father, Chris LeDoux, put on at the Cheyenne County Fair back in 1993. The latest new business in Sidney officially opened the beginning of the month, and the Sidney community has a new Maverik fuel and convenience store right near the entrance and exit of I-80. Billed as "Adventure's First Stop", the new store is big and bright, and people immediately notice the walls are decorated with murals highlighting the Panhandle's attractions like Chimney Rock. It has been some time since alcohol sales were permitted at the Cheyenne County Fair, but this year the County Commissioners approved the Fair Board's request to organize a Beer Garden.
