GORDON-- A long season that started with summer practices at the Cheyenne County Community Center while the Leyton High School gym floor was being refinished, ended in a District Final loss to Stuart Lady Broncos on Saturday, October 28. PEETZ--It was the showdown of the Bulldogs last Friday as the 7-and-1 Peetz Bulldogs hosted their rivals, the 7-and-1 Otis Bulldogs at Scott Sorensen Field. SIDNEY--On Saturday, October 21, the Bartling Family in conjunction with PlainsWest CASA held its second annual Lori Bartling Husker Tailgate Party at the Lazy S Ranch in Sidney. KEARNEY--Sidney's Lady Raider Cross Country team qualified six runners for the State Meet in Kearney on Friday afternoon. SIDNEY--Sidney Police are investigating a rash of car break-ins and attempted break-ins in Sidney and the surrounding area on Saturday, October 14th and in the early morning hours on the 15th . SIDNEY--Sidney residents have noticed construction work at both Git-N-Split locations in town. The two facilities have been repairing underground fuel tanks that are used to store the gasoline we all buy to operate our cars and other vehicles. Haupt Landscaping has been handling the projects, and the repairs should be finished over the next week to ten days. BRIDGEPORT--On Saturday, October 14, the Leyton Lady Warriors and Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes traveled to Bridgeport for the annual MAC Tournament, and both teams went 2-and-1 at the tournament, giving Leyton a second place finish and Potter-Dix a third place result. OSHKOSH--Potter-Dix's Coyote Football team remained unbeaten with a 36-to-28 victory over Garden County in Oshkosh, spoiling the Eagles Homecoming Celebration and showing they’re still one of the best teams in D6 football. SIDNEY--Three arrests on drug charges were made Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 on the 800 block of Linden Street in Sidney. SIDNEY--The City Council of Sidney met Tuesday, September 26, and the agenda centered on approving the 2023-24 budget. After Sidney Finance Director Lane Kizzire detailed the budget for the council members, the council approved the budget with a unanimous vote.
