GRANT- Leyton's Warrior Basketball teams closed out 2023 with a split against Perkins County in Grant on Saturday. The girls were able to hold off a late rally for a win while the boys struggled to score after the first quarter, and took the loss. NORTH PLATTE- On Friday, December 29, the Lady Raider Wrestling team traveled to compete at the North Platte Invitational. The girls were able to take home several medals from the competition. Izabelle Owens took home the gold medal at 140 lbs, winning all of her matches. SIDNEY – On December 29, 2023, Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub and Cheyenne County Chief Deputy Attorney Amber Horn said complaints were filed against a group of youths in connection to a series of vandalism and property damage incidents that occurred during the Thanksgiving holiday period. You may have seen the two new Ford Pickups purchased by the Sidney Police Department last year driving around town, as they have finally arrived after nearly a year of delays. Supply chain disruptions and other issues had delayed the delivery of the two new vehicles, but they are now here in Sidney and on patrol. SIDNEY- Cheyenne County Fair Board Chairman Troy Kurz has announced that the Fair Board has signed a three-year contract with Cervi Championship Rodeo out of Greeley, Colorado, to provide the Rodeo Show at the Cheyenne County Fair through 2026. Both Sidney High School Basketball teams continued their perfect starts to the 2023-24 season with big wins over Gering and Holdrege last week.
