    The American Plains Artists has accepted artwork by J.I. McElroy of Gurley for inclusion in its 30th Annual Juried “Art of the Plains” exhibit and sale in Lincoln. The event will be held at the Great Plains Art Museum, 1155 Q St., Lincoln, from Aug. 7 through Oct. 24. Approximately 120 pieces of art from more than 80 artists from across the nation were accepted into this show.   • Apparent fight in car leads to death of Sidney man in Wyoming crash

    A single-vehicle crash in Wyoming last week resulted in the death of 34-year-old Sidney resident Daniel T. Poole. The crash occurred on July 29 at about 10:35 p.m. on Interstate 25 approximately seven miles south of Douglas, Wyo. Poole was the front-seat passenger in a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by his wife, 28-year-old Brittany Poole. Daniel and Brittany Poole were reported to be arguing while traveling north on I-25, according to Sgt. David Wagener of the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
