Wheat Belt Public Power District announced that it has awarded six scholarships to area youth. Katelyn Higgins of Dalton was selected to receive the $1,000 Basin Scholarship. Higgins is the daughter of Robert and Lianne Higgins. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in the fall. Her major course of study will be nutrition, exercise and health sciences. Sixty-three people were indicted in a drug bust in Nebraska and Colorado, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska announced on Wednesday. The Sidney High School speech team won the Kimball Invitational held last weekend. Sidney was the sweeptstakes winner in Class A/B and also the overall winner among the 15 competing schools.
