Caitlyn Deal kicks off the first meeting of the Cool Kids Club 4-H gardening project group. Deal and her brothers, Jeffrey and Zach, wrote a grant for their Junior Leader 4-H Club to start a community gardening project with a learning component. They teamed up with the Cool Kids Club. The group will meet weekly throughout the summer to learn about gardening and science. The project also developed into a new partnership between UNL Extension and the Cool Kids Club. The Cheyenne County 4-H Council is proud to announce that Emily Gill is the recipient of the 2014 4-H Council Scholarship. Gill is an 11-year member of 4-H and has served as president of the Junior Leaders and Dryland Toughies 4-H Clubs. Gill's 4-H projects include market beef, poultry, photography, and foods. Gill is a senior at Leyton High School and is the son of James and Cynthia Gill of Gurley. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and study Nutrition, Exercise and Health... Twenty-six new 4-H Shooting Sports instructors from across the panhandle received their certifications to teach 4-Hers best practices in archery, shotgun and rifle last weekend in Sidney.
