    A developer with Sandhills Energy LLC., came before the Cheyenne County Commissioners Monday to request permits granting solar utility transmission. Chuck Hassebrook, Vice President for Project Development with Sandhills Energy came before the board to request permits for a project he projected could bring in $150,000, over 30 years, in tax revenue for Cheyenne County, while creating a few permanent jobs.     Sidney residents braved the cold temperatures Saturday to kick off the Christmas season with a day full of events provided by the Cheyenne County Chamber or Commerce.     Nebraskan hunters get the opportunity to help feed the hungry by donating their deer to the Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) program. The HHH program is a Nebraska Game and Parks program created by the Nebraska Legislature in April 2012. The program provides pure ground venison to Nebraskans in need. According to the Neb. Game and Parks 2015 program report, there were 501 deer donated by 437 hunters. Resulting in 23,374 pounds of venison to be donated to the hungry.     This election had no shortage of controversy, with voters drawing a clear line in the sand, voter turnout was higher then it has been in the past. In the last general election in 2014, there were 6,989 registered voters, with only 2,914 turning out to cast their votes.     Sidney Public Schools (SPS) released the scores for the 2015-16 NeSA testing. NeSA stands for Nebraska State Accountability and is the main state test taken by all Nebraska students in grades 3-11. Superintendent Jay Ehler said the subjects students are tested on are reading, writing, math and science, with writing only tested in grades 4, 8, and 11 and science is only tested in grades 5, 8 and 11.
